All leadership experts tell us the same thing, according to Fast Company writer Kaihan Krippendorff: “We can have anything we want if we are clear about what we want and focus on it.”
But that almost pat answer caused Krippendorff to delve deeper in his interview with Erroll Brain, the world-renowned coach of Portgual’s rugby team. He asked, “How can two people who want the same thing and who have similar abilities, end up diverging--one winning the championship and the other quitting? How can we make sure we win?”
The coach gave four interesting responses:
1. Know if you really want it.
2. Pressure test.
3. Take your eye off the ball.
4. Care less.
